The AST-Bxxxx is a low noise fan option for California Instruments AST Series programmable AC power sources. This accessory is designed to reduce the sound level to 60 dB when measured 1 meter from the front panel, providing a quieter operating environment. When equipped with the low noise fan, the output power of the AST Series unit must be derated by 10% if operated in ambient temperatures above 30 °C. This option is intended for applications where reduced acoustic noise is critical, such as in laboratory or office settings. The AST-Bxxxx option is installed at the factory and is compatible only with specified AST Series models.
