The NI PXIe-PCIe8381 MXI-Express for PXI Express kit features a fully transparent, high-bandwidth, cabled PCI Express link for which all PXI and PXI Express modules appear as PCI boards within the computer itself.
The NI PXIe-PCIe8381 uses a x8 Gen 2 cabled PCI Express link to connect a PXI Express chassis to desktop PCs. This kit includes an NI PCIe-8381 board in the PC that is connected via a x8 Gen 2 cabled PCI Express copper cable to an NI PXIe-8381 module in slot 1 of a PXI Express chassis.
With the NI PXIe-8384 in the peripheral slot of the NI PXIe-1085 chassis, you can create multichassis PXI systems that use a high-bandwidth (PCI Express x8 Gen 2) link.
PC Compatibility
The NI PXIe-PCIe8381 is designed to be compatible with a wide array of commercially available PCs. NI provides the NI MXI-Express BIOS Compatibility Software to address some of the most common PC limitations related to enumerating complex PCI Express topologies.
