The NI PXIe-5694 IF conditioning module is well suited for spectrum monitoring applications in which some interfering signals are spaced too close in frequency to the measurement signal. It provides additional filtering in the IF stage. The NI PXIe-5694 adds a wide range of analog filters centered at the final IF at 193.6 MHz to help you balance selectivity and measurement speed. These analog filters prevent the analog-to-digital converters in digitizers from overloading by adjacent high-power signals. This helps resolve low-power signals and increases the probability of intercept.

The NI PXIe-5694 features five roofing filters, and the bandwidth of these IF filters ranges from 30 kHz to 20 MHz, improving the selectivity of the HF receiver and spectrum analyzer. The bypass path of the NI PXIe-5694 has greater than 160 MHz IF bandwidth centered at 187.5 MHz, which is ideal for a wideband digitally modulated signal. The internal synthesizer further downconverts the IF to 21.4 MHz and extends its versatility so it can be used by a wide variety of digitizers.
