The NI PXIe-8431/16 is a high-performance, asynchronous 16-port serial interface for high-speed communication with RS485 and RS422 devices at rates of up to 3 Mbaud. Refer to ni.com/kb and search the KnowledgeBase for 58KEI82F for use with higher rates. NI high-performance RS485/422 interfaces are available with up to 16 ports. The NI PXIe-8431/16 offers flexible baud rates for data transmissions between 2 baud and 1 Mbaud with better than 0.015 percent accuracy for standard baud rates, 0.5 percent for nonstandard baud rates, and 1.3 percent above 1 Mbaud.

NI 843x serial interfaces feature high-performance DMA transfers, multithreading, and multiprocessor support. Unlike traditional interrupt-based serial interfaces, you can use multiple NI serial interfaces to communicate with dozens of ports at high rates effortlessly in a single system with minimal CPU usage.
