The NI USB-4431 is a 5-channel USB dynamic signal acquisition module for making sound and vibration measurements from integrated electronic piezoelectric (IEPE) and non-IEPE sensors. Four channels on the USB-4431 have the signal conditioning for sensors. The fifth channel is an analog output channel.

This module features analog input (AI) channels that can sample from 1 S/s up to a full rate of 102.4 kS/s. The AI channels are all sampled simultaneously. The USB-4431 delivers 100 dB of dynamic range on its AI channels, and each AI channel incorporates software-selectable AC/DC coupling and IEPE signal conditioning for accelerometers and microphones. They are also compliant with IEEE 1451.4 (TEDS) sensors for plug-and-play sensor functionality.

The analog output (AO) channel is ideal for stimulus-response tests and can be synchronized to the AI channels. The AO channels have a maximum update rate of 96 kS/s and a dynamic range of 89 db.
