Agilent Technologies, Inc. 8720ES 50MHz-20GHz, S-Parameter Vector Network Analyzer

The Agilent Technologies, Inc. 8720ES network analyzer is an instrument which measures the complex transmission and reflection characteristics of two-port devices in the frequency domain. It does this by sampling the incident signal, separating the transmitted and reflected waves, and then performing ratios that are directly related to the reflection and transmission coefficients of the two-port. Frequency is swept to rapidly obtain amplitude and phase information over a band of frequencies of interest.

Agilent Technologies, Inc. 8720ES network analyzers utilize synthesized-frequency sources to provide a known test stimulus that can sweep across a range of frequencies or power levels. Agilent Technologies, Inc. 8720ES network analyzers also can perform ratioed measurements (including phase), which require multiple receivers. The Agilent Technologies, Inc. 8720ES can provide a wealth of knowledge about a device under test (DUT), including its magnitude, phase, and group-delay response.

The HP 8720ES vector network analyzer allows complete characterization of RF and microwave components. The HP 8720ES includes an integrated synthesized source, test set and tuned receiver. The built-in S-parameter test set provides a full range of magnitude and phase measurements in both the forward and reverse directions. Built-in vector accuracy enhancement techniques include full two-port, adapter-removal, and optional TRL calibration.

The HP 8720E family includes three T/R and three S-parameter network analyzers, covering 13.5, 20 and 40 GHz.
