The FSP provides demodulators for AM and FM signals when equipped with the AF demodulator option
(FSP-B3). With these demodulators, a displayed signal can be identified acoustically through the use of the internal loudspeaker or with headphones. The frequency at which the demodulation is enabled is coupled to the markers. The sweep stops at the frequency determined by the active marker for the selected time and the RF signal is demodulated. During a measurement in the time domain (span = 0Hz) the demodulation is continuously on.The threshold line (MKR→SEARCH LIMITS:THRESHOLD) performs a squelch function in the demodulator. If the threshold is set, the FSP LF demodulation is switched on only when the signal to be demodulated exceeds the set threshold.
