Description

Define Phase Noise Performance of the MXG

Option 432 on MXG vector signal generator is the only product that allows users to add real time phase noise to any arbitrary waveform played back using the internal baseband generator. From the front panel, define the shape of the pedestal (1 kHz to 48 MHz) phase noise, including the start frequency, stop frequency and phase noise level, and simulate different local oscillator conditions during LO substitution.

Typical Application

Phase noise impairments are recommended for receiver characterization and design. During receiver development, use N5182A-432 to determine the sensitivity of your design to phase noise of the local oscillator. Option 432 also allows you to evaluate receiver demodulation accuracy for transmitted signals of varying spectral purity.

This option can be added as a product upgrade.
