Widest Modulation Bandwidth Available
Option 015 provides wideband external analog I/Q inputs to directly drive the PSG's leading-edge internal I/Q modulator with an external arbitrary waveform generator. Using the wideband external I/Q inputs, up to 2 GHz RF modulation bandwidth is now easily realized. The uncalibrated wideband external I/Q inputs located on the PSG rear panel are provided in addition to the calibrated, standard bandwidth (160 MHz) external I/Q inputs on the PSG front panel.
Typical Applications
Option 015 is recommended for high symbol rate custom modulation, multicarrier signal generation, and fast frequency hopping within the modulation bandwidth for satellite, aerospace/defense, broadband communications, and component test applications requiring wide modulation bandwidth.
This option can be added as a product upgrade.
