The CEL-620B is an enhanced version of the CEL-620.A wide range integrating meter. It adds the real time octave band analysis functions that make it the ideal instrument for occupational hygienists wishing to carry out comprehensive noise surveys in the workplace. It can make simultaneous measurements of the 'A', 'C' and 'Z' weighted overall noise levels with the Slow, Fast and Impulse time responses all at the same time. It can also measure with the Q=3, 4 and 5 dB exchange rates at the same time. It can measure the 11 octave bands over the whole audio range at the same time. A CEL-620.C model is also available that offers third octave frequency analysis from 12.5Hz to 20 kHz. Measurement times can be drastically cut by the use of modern digital signal processing (DSP) techniques that allow multiple parameters to be collected simultaneously. This eliminates the need to go back and re-measure the noise to get the result set that is needed for a thorough survey. The CEL-620B or 620C is also the best choice where the frequency content of the noise in addition to the time average levels of varying or impulsive noises are required, for example in a workplace noise survey for OSHA/ACGIH/NIOSH compliance. All results are viewed on the high resolution LCD that uses color as an indicator to guide the new (or experienced) user through the measurement procedure. This basic measurement mode allows the user to walk around a factory and take readings whenever and wherever they are needed. Run results can be stored for later retrieval by the user. The instrument can be connected to a computer using the integral high speed USB interface where the instrument is detected as if it were a standard memory card.
