Generate High Power Test Signals
The E4428C ESG equipped with Option UNB achieves significantly higher output power when combined with frequency range choice Option 503 (250 kHz to 3 GHz carrier frequencies). The enhanced performance is achieved using a low loss mechanical attenuator in place of the standard electronic attenuator. Option UNB is specified to yield 4 dB to 6 dB improvement over standard output power levels depending on the carrier frequency. Measured improvements of over 10 dB are common. View plot
Superior Level Accuracy and Resolution
The ESG provides level resolution of .02 dB with specified accuracy ranging from 0.5 dB to 1.0 dB depending on carrier frequency and power level. This level of performance enables precise characterization of your device under test, even at low power levels, and ensures repeatable measurements.
Note: Option 506 is standard with the high power mechanical attenuator used in Option UNB, and therefore, both options can not be ordered together.

Option UNB is recommended for signal generation applications that require high power RF test signals to stress the device under test. Typical applications include blocking and interference test, transceiver test, component test, and amplifier linearity test.
This option cannot be added as a product upgrade only available at time of purchase.
