The NI Emissions Monitoring System for Oil and Gas Operations helps you reduce greenhouse gases and manage your environmental footprint with real-time monitoring of the diesel and gas engines critical to field operations. This safeguard provides a method to set targets and understand how your organization contributes to reducing greenhouse gases.
With this system, you can access and monitor key engine parameters on the engines controller area network (CAN), easily integrate these parameters with sensor and transducer data gathered from the 4 mA to 20 mA current loop inputs, and control 24 V industrial digital devices to enforce safety controls or adjust engine operation. You also can directly monitor the temperature of engine systems with resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). Using the built-in field-programmable gate array (FPGA) on NI CompactRIO hardware, you can also create transistor-transistor logic (TTL)-level digital protocols to communicate with a wide range of instrument buses or sensors using standard protocols like SPI, UART, and I2C. Or you can completely customize digital protocols. With access to this wide array of engine data, you can use the extensive library of analysis and processing functions in NI LabVIEW graphical system design software to precisely monitor and log engine emission information.
