For new applications, consider the NI PXI-6509. For most applications, the PXI-6509 offers equivalent or improved functionality. For applications that require Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) or onboard pull-up resistors, select the PXI-6508.
The NI PXI-6508 96-bit parallel digital I/O module uses four 24-bit programmable peripheral interfaces (PPIs). You can further divide each PPI into three eight-bit ports. The PXI-6508 is flexible when interfacing to peripherals or other computers, and can operate in either a unidirectional or bidirectional mode and handshake with peripheral equipment.
