All connectors used in the PG 1000A Pulse Generator are precision SMA connectors to maintain high speed and low transient aberration output signals. However, sine many people prefer to use BNC connectors, a total of 11 ea. SMA to BNC adaptors are supplied with the instrument. For best performance, short SMA interconnections with low-loss cables are strongly recommended. In addition, the instrument is supplied with two interconnecting coaxial cables, a 2.5ns long transmission line with a shorting cap, a 80 ns delay line is available for producing a pretrigger signal. This pretrigger signal is particularly useful in applications when sampling heads are used, and the pulse repetition rate is so low that the random sampling mode in the time base is not operational.
